Q: Is it safe to have sex in the first trimester???

Hi ladies,
This is my first pregnancy and I'm just curious if it is safe to have sex during the first trimester. I know they say that the first 12 weeks are the most critical. So i'm just a little nervous. Any advice will be helpful. Thank you!!!

It's okay to have sex in all trimesters, unless doctor says otherwise;)

It's perfectly safe...unless stated otherwise by your obgyn. I'm about 7 weeks pregnant now and I have to say the only thing that keeps me from wanting to have sex is the fatigue...but DH and I are still at it! So enjoy it!

Have to agree with Mrs HT until you've had that first prenatal appo one gets very cautious...but just calm down and enjoy yourself.

Sex is fine all the way up until labor unless you have any complications or your physician states that you shouldn't or puts you on pelvic rest. Enjoy sex while you can. Some women feel more secure after having their first appointment and discussing it with OB/Midwife. Note that there could be some spotting after sex.

It's safe at any point in pregnancy unless you have ongoing complications, but then your doc would tell you to hold off if that were the case :) have fun!
