Wishing and the stress of ttc can interfere with the period arriving on time. The most common luteal phase is 14 days after ovulation so you could still have a day to wait before your period shows up.
hormone levels are different for everyone and also every pregnancy is different, some ladies get strong positives well before their period where as some don't get a positive until a few days after their missed period date.
Head to countdown TO pregnancy. com which is geared up for women who are trying to conceive and stocked full of helpful advice rather then here which is designed for pregnant women.
I found the site really helpful for planning my days to test on to get the best results.

I would wait to see if your period comes. If not, test again and make sure you look at the sensitivity of the test. Mine sensitivity was 25ML & I got a definite positive. Countdowntopregnancy.com is a great place to go & track your symptoms and your cycle. X

the joy of becoming a parent is real. I suffered from depression and came out of it after having a beautiful baby in my arms. I am so happy for you both. Good luck to your family in your future! xx
