Q: Coughing after eating...related to heartburn?

I got sick with a cold about a month ago and developed a cough a week or so later. I've been coughing, usually after eating, ever since. It's uncontrollable. Once so bad I threw up. This is also mixed with heartburn. I'm 30 weeks. I'm wondering if this cough is a symptom of the heartburn or my lingering cold?? Anyone have a similar situation?

Coughing can be a symptom of heartburn, intact, heartburn can actually trigger asthma attacks in asthmatics. You may be more sensitive to the heartburn, which triggers the coughing, because of the recent illness. You should talk to your OB to see if they would recommend heartburn medication (or a different medication) to control symptoms. I had similar issues and my OB was able to recommend a daily medication that stopped all of my symptoms. I wish I hadn't waited so long to talk to the ob as heartburn is miserable! Hope you feel better soon.
