Q: Old blood with Crinone 8% suppository progesterone). Anyone?

Since We had our transfer on 10/26 I have been using Crinone 8% suppository a progesterone gel. right before I found out I was pregnant on 11/7, I had this brownish almost wet paper like discharge. I was convinced I wasn't pregnant. I told my burse about it and she said it was nothing to worry about that my hcg levels were fine and continued to increase. the web paper like consistence is simply gel that the body didn't absorb. Now that I am almost 6 week I am still getting small amount of brownish tint and. I'm finding that I am having more of this paperish discharge.

I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this on this medication. Every where I am reading says it's fine and there is nothing to worry about, but I am just wondering if there has been any one with similar experience with no issues.

I figured it was probably common, just nervous of course. glad we are not alone to Answer these questions. I'd hate to pick up the phone every other day to my doctor with a question..lol

The discharge is not your body secreting that, it's the crinone that changes weird colors and is being expelled by your vagina... once you stop using it, you won't have that issue. I usually cleaned it out of me every other day using my pointer and middle finger. It is left over gel that your body can't absorb... and Yes it will make the vaginal walls a little more sensitive so if you notice spotting after sex, don't be alarmed! Perfectly normal from the crinone.

It is a common symptom, I didnt necessarily experience the brown discharge but I did experience discharge. The brown I was told was old blood caused by the irritation to the cerivix from the crinone. I used prometrium vaginally this pregnancy and do like that I didnt run into that side effect. Best of luck
