Q: Morning sickness at 6 1/2 weeks

How severe can morning sickness get this early on? My nausea hasn't been too bad in the past couple of weeks until last night n all day today. I had to leave work early today because of it... I just want to know what to look forward to. I had a nosebleed last night after getting sick n today the pressure makes my eyes hurt...

I have hyperemesis and it started about 5-6 weeks. I am currently on Zofran every 8 hours and it is the only thing that has helped me. I tried all the natural ways and then went to phengran and then caved and went to Zofran. I would call the doctor and talk to them about what you can take... the pain is horrible!!! I missed a lot of work the past month due to it and was hospitalized once due to dehydration!

Visit the site... http://www.helpher.org/
It talks more about hyperemesis!

On Wednesday I was only 5 weeks 3days and actually got sick at work. They sent me home, I called my Dr.'s office and let them know. They gave me a script for Zofran to use while im at work when I need it. I was feeling the same way thing morning so I took one and have been fine all day. I know some say not to use it, but if you are like me and have to work (currenly 1 income family as DH is on seasonal layoff in MI). I need all the time I can save. (With so much christmas stuff out I've seen alot of ginger snaps if you cant drink Vernors.)Good luck, hope you feel better!

I am 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant. At the beginning of this week I started having pretty severe nausea. The nausea has pretty much lasted all day every day so far. I do have brief periods of time during the day when I feel normal, but those only last 5 minutes or less. I've been drinking ginger ale, which seems to only help a tiny bit. :-/

I also am 6 1/2 weeks and I have noticed a big increase in nausea in the last few days. I have been lucky enough to not actually get sick so far... But the nausea has been pretty awful. Ginger ale is my best friend right now.

I read that m/s sets in fully by 6 weeks so that could be why it has suddenly increased now. I am 7wks 2days and even though I have never thrown up, the nausea did increase since I hit 6 weeks and is now a constant companion 24/7.
Lets look forward to 12 weeks when it is said to finally stop :)

In all honesty you could be in for it to be bad for a few weeks, a few months or it might just last a few days and ease up.
It's really impossible to tell how each woman is going to present with morning sickness.
Most commonly you might have it till 12 weeks but how severe it gets is not predictable. They still aren't sure what actually causes MS but it's most likely a hormonal lottery to how your body will deal with it.
I know that's not what you want to hear but if you plan for it to be nasty now you can think ahead for what you will do about work, will you want medical help, are there other responsibilities you need to arrange cover for and so forth? If you have those questions sorted you don't have to worry when your living on the bathroom floor.
Good luck and I hope it stays mild for you x
