It's your choice of course but it was my understanding that in cases of health/pregnancy that fasting was not to be undertaken by Muslim law. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, I'm not Muslim just a big documentary geek!

I'm not a doctor, but I do have many Muslim friends and they have always " skipped" Ramadan while pregnant but then made up the fasting time later on , it is my understanding that you are allowed to do that.

Since you can eat before and after sunset you'll be getting food so that's good but I would be worried about water...dehydration is so dangerous.

Maybe a good option is to fast from food but not water? And make up your fast at a later date?

how about, instead of skipping the fast, you become nocturnal. just a weird thought i know. but if you stay up during the night then you can eat and drink whatever you want right? then sleep through the day and not eat during the day.

I'm from a muslim family and I can tell you that you can skip Ramadhan during pregnancy and even when breast feeding.

I agree with octivia; please don't fast from water! You need to stay hydrated! If you decide you must fast from food, it's probably ok as long as you make sure you are eating healthy things after dusk (fruits, veggies, low sugar, etc) to make up for the fasting. Also, be sure to take your vitamins!
I hear of a lot of women who barely eat during their first trimester due to nausea, so it doesn't seem like this is that different.
Good luck.
