Q: Gender Determination Ultrasounds

I found a place near me that does elective ultrasounds. They do 3D/4D, and claim they can determine gender as early as 14 weeks. My husband and I would like to get the determination ultrasound. My question is, how accurate is a determination at 14 weeks? We're planning on waiting 2 more weeks, so I will be 16 weeks at the time of the ultrasound. How accurate is gender determination at 16 weeks?

I would wait for the 16 week mark personally, I was told with my son at 16 weeks he was a boy. I think that sometimes in can be a little too early and what looks like boy bits can change into girl bits, and this is the development around the 12-14 weeks mark. So 16 weeks should be quite accurate :)

I personally wouldn't trust the results at 14w but I do know quite a few women who've found out that early via ultrasound and it was correct =) I think by 16w it should be pretty accurate. A lot of women do gender scans at that point.

My Ob told me my middle son was going to be a boy when we went for our 13 week ultrasound. Many women find out early and it is very accurate.
