Q: Has anyone ever had the Mirena crash symptoms, or were you really pregnant?

I recently had my iud removed on july 11th and i have been having headaches, dizziness, increased hunger, mood swings galore, just feelings of being pregnant. I just recently took a pregnancy test on 7/28/15 and NEGATIVE!!! Just wondering if its my mind playing games on me due to the removal of the iud or could i really be pregnant? I did have some bleeding from 7/13-7/16 but was not for sure if it was a real period or just from the iud being removed. Can anyone just shed some light on past or current experiences if possible. Im driving myself crazy over here LOL.

I had my IUD out because I kept having pregnancy symptoms and it drove me batty! I'd rather take BCP and have peace of mind.

Thanks to you Cattsmeow & Brandavir for your responses. I honestly dont know what to think at this point because im having major pregnant symptoms but got a negative test just yesterday morning. So ill wait it out a little longer and see how things go. Today has been lousy for me. Constant dizziness, woke up feeling very nauseaous, and extra tired and sleepy. The nausea is actually new as of yestarday and then ive also been have lower back pain and cramps since yesterday as well. Thanks Again you all.

I had the Mirena for 3 and a half years. I hated it the whole time. I had extreme mood swings, bad depression and anxiety, I would gain weight out of nowhere (like 50lbs or more), then lose it again out of nowhere. I got pregnant 3 times while I had it, each one resulting in an early loss (6 weeks or before), and I would have sporadic heavy bleeding. It literally fell out July of 2013. (I got it in 2010.) I never had the crash associated with removal, but it was hell while I had it in. After it came out, I got my period within 5 days and it was heavier flow than before I got it. I was told we could TTC right away, since my period came back so soon. We got pregnant early November 2013. But honestly, I have been a lot better since it fell out, and I will never get an IUD again.

I know this doesn't really answer your question (except for the fact that I never went through the "crash"), but I hope it helps.

I'm not sure if this helps you, but when I had mine removed last august, i got really REALLY boated for a long time, I thought I was pregnant but all negative. After a couple months it went away, but then we had 2 miscarriages in a row, and I still think it may have been from the mirena (from research I read online)
The few things I noticed the most, besides the bad bloating, was that I didn't bleed like I thought I would, and I got my sex drive back big time! I also lost a little weight, but not sure if that was mirena or nicer weather outside!
best of luck to you! It's nice to have it out!
