Q: Baby Growth

I had an ultrasound last monday at what i thought was 7 weeks the baby was measuring 6+3 with a strong heart beat of 132bpm. This week should be 8 weeks and saw my ob who did a quick ultrasound and measured at 6+1?? There was a heart beat but unsure of the rate. I am getting concerned is this normal? I have another ultrasund in 2 weeks. I have based my dates from ovulation and what i had a positive OPK. If the ultrasound date is right then i got a positive pregnancy test betwenn 1-4 DPO which i think is impossible. any thoughts to put my mind at ease?

P.S. Also it depends on the angle of the baby at the moment when they measure. i have lay there before and within the space of 10 mins she has took 3 measurements and got different "dates".

Ultrasound measurements are not accurate before 12 weeks as the baby is so small. Hence why it is called your 12 weeks dating scan. I had numerous scans before 12 weeks and the "measurements" always conflicted my dates, but my 12 week date was spot on. Don't worry !

p.s. in other words, I would have had my bfp on 5dpo which isn't likely.

I did ovulation tests, charting, etc. I know FOR SURE when i ovulated.
My gestational sac measured small, almost 2 weeks small for the entire first trimester.
My first ultrasound (besides the ER one i had) Measured baby almost a week small @ 7w6d and the sac 2 weeks behind @ 6w2d it put me back way behind because of the average. My due date should have been 7/13/12 by ovulation day, they put me at 7/27/12
At my 13w ultrasound Baby Dated 7/20/12 but given adjustments they upped my due date to 7/18/12 So while it's still almost a week behind baby caught up more and is doing well. I am now 18w1d (should be 18w6d) and babys heart is still strong and we will have our 20w anatomy scan in 2 weeks.
Don't worry too much. Yes they say that early ultrasounds mean more for dating than others but please know that there are many factors that go into why the dating is off or seems incorrect or baby has slow growth. Just be positive and don't stress because stress isn't good for you or baby.
