Q: 37 weeks today with gestational diabetes...Ready for baby!!! Who's with me???

I'm 37 weeks today according to LMP or 37 weeks 5 days according to sonogram (apparently my doctors don't go by this?). Anyways I'm so uncomfortable! I don't know the last time I slept, I have extreme pelvic pain which makes it even more difficult to walk or sleep and on top of it my doctor decided to move last week :( The new ones (because I can't get assigned a regular one this late???) have yet to even ask about my gestational diabetes, which seems more difficult than ever to control. Aside from that I haven't even been checked yet! Am I overreacting? Anyone else in the same boat with me? At this point I'm just ready for her to be in my arms! ?

I don't have GD but I think most of your feelings are pretty normal for just being 37 weeks pregnant! I am 37 +1 and absolutely ready for baby. Typically docs won't change your due date unless your first ultrasound measures more than 7-10 days ahead.

Definitely talk with your new doc about your GD concerns. I believe my friends with GD started extra monitoring (like NSTs) around 38 weeks.

Best of luck. We are in the home stretch!

I had GD and it was monitored very closely as it is imperative that it is controlled and monitored on a daily basis for the baby. I delivered at 38+5 induction due to my GD. When she was born she has to have heal pricks for 3 days while in hospital to make sure she hadn't been effected by my GD. After she was born my levels were fine back to normal and being able to eat chocolate again. Hopefully your Bub comes early so you can go back to normal eating and no more 4x a day finger pricks. That's what I hated. Best of luck for a quick easy delivery. :-)
