Q: Bleeding after labour..

How long did you bleed for? I gave birth 3 weeks and 2 days ago. I know they say you can bleed up to 6 weeks but how true is that?
My bleeding was light and always has been but every time I think it's finally stopped it comes back again.. its so fustrating.. I miss my connection with my future hubby, I miss being close to him.. every time I think Yes!! It's stopped!! It comes back with a vengeance. .. just want to get an idea of how much longer it lasts

Mine was a full 6 weeks with both my kids. I had very heavy bleeding for 2+ weeks and then it tapered off. By the 5th week, it was spotting. It also picked up if I had a particularly active day.

Maybe some shower intimacy? I preferred that particularly because of my leaky boobs!

I bled for 3 weeks. I did have it almost go away only to come back with a vengeance after I decided to clean the whole house one weekend. I will be 6 weeks post partum on Monday and I still have a little bit of white/yellow discharge that I need to wear a panty liner with. I can't wait for that to stop.

You really shouldn't have any sexual intercourse before you are cleared by your doctor which is normally about 6 weeks.

Oh also you shouldn't be having sex for 6 weeks after giving birth or until your've been cleared by your doctor due to infection risks. Anyone who disagrees or says rubbish. It's 100% fact. People who choose to do it sooner is obviously their choice but an OB will tell you to wait until yours and baby's 6 week check up.

No intercourse (or other vaginal penetration) but everything else was fair game!

Mine lasted 10 weeks with my first! And just like yours it would almost be gone, and then Bam, come back heavy again! It did eventually taper off, and I wouldn't let myself believe it, but it does, I promise! I hope you will be done soon!
