Q: Induced early because of pelvic girdle pain/spd?

I was curious as to whether any of you ladies have been induced early because of severe pelvic girdle pain/spd, or have considered asking to be. I am currently 29 weeks with my 3rd pregnancy and have been in terrible, crippling pain since early in the second trimester. I have a 19 month old to look after, so staying off my feet and resting is right out of the question. It's getting so bad that it's seriously affecting my ability to walk.

I had hip surgery as a teenager and during my first pregnancy I had a hard time since I had muscle spasms, swelling etc acccording to my doc's my hip was threatening to dislocate due to the relaxin hormone extra weight etc etc, after an ultrasound to guage baby's size, my doctor was willing to induce me early if my body indicated willingness but only if it showed signs of ripening etc. I never did until the day i went into labour on my own, one day before my due date, so no help for me (laa sigh).
Within reason the doctors probably won't induce you early, because although the baby is considered term if it's not ready to come out on it's own there might be a good reason and babies born early are more susceptible to many things, even when it is only a week, but it never hurts to discuss the options and scenarios with your doctor. They swhould weight the pros and cons for both you and baby come to a reasonable answer/compromise. You might be surprised :D good luck and best wishes
