Q: Constipation

I'm suffering with constipation and it's really hurting my stomach has anyone got any remedies or suggestions on what I can do or take to help. I'm eating normal and drinking lots of water but nothing is making my bowl movements move.

Before I was pregnant I always found a good, strong cup of coffee would normally do the trick, but that can be difficult when you are limited on how much caffeine you can take. Luckily I found that decaff had pretty much the same effect, if you make it strong and sweet enough, and drink it quick.

I have this same problem and it is so bad. I bought Colace and I take 1 three times a day with food. On top of that I have to drink a huge glass of prune juice with lunch daily. It almost makes me puke every time I take a Colace or drink prune juice so sometimes I choose lack of vomit over constipation relief. UGH

Agreed. Not a laxative, but a stool softener is recommended by my OB. I was taking fiber supplements earlier on, but I found they made me really gassy and even more uncomfortable than the constipation.

Stool softener and lots of fruits and whole grains. Think watermelon, apples, leafy greens, prunes, berries. Just not bananas, they will clog you up even more.
