You could call him Tony!! After he is born, you will call him all sorts of nicknames until one sticks. I know a Eugene who goes by Bubba. You'll find a great nickname from a strong family name. Try not to over think it now.

I know this doesn't really help, but I kind of like the name Milton! So many boy names nowadays end with "on" --- like Aidan, Mason, Dylan, Dalton, etc etc etc. It's so common. Milton isn't that common, but it fits right in with the trend. The grandfather can be called Milt, the dad can be called Gene, and he can be Milton. I don't really love the Eugene part, but it's just a middle name. However, I know you want to name your baby the name that YOU pick out, not that someone picked out generations ago! Still, hope this helps.

i dont know if im going to be much help but i know exactly how you feel. my dad is charles joseph third. and him and my grandparents want our son {whenever we are blessed with one} to be the forth. i decided to keep the middle name. so when we have a boy it will be phoenix joseph. good luck
