Start taking magnesium. I used to get horribly constipated in the tww so added 400mg of magnesium to my daily meal of pills, haven't been constipated even once since 2012. Struggle-free poops while pregnant are the best...and 2 pills a day, everyday, is a hell of a lot easier to take than sucking back prune anything, metamucil or muslix.
Mg is the main ingredient in milk of magnesia also. Safe for baby and won't make ur bowels lazy. Get a good kind if u decide to take this route.
Good luck! =))

I take 3 Colace a day and sometimes that doesn't even cut it and I'll have to drink the dreaded prune juice. It works better if you warm it up but it might make you barf because its disgusting warm. I also find it a little helpful to walk 20 minutes on the treadmill at night, but that doesn't work until the next morning.

I used Miramax before and during my pregnancy and I give it to my five-year-old who loves meat and gets backed up. Totally safe, no cramping, works within a few days and keeps working as long as you take it.
