Q: Anyone having severe sinus pain?

I got sick with some type of severe cold right around the time I got my BFP. It took two weeks to get over, but I'm mostly healed now. 5 days ago, right as I was feeling better I got a severe sinus headache that had me in tears. Across forehead from eyebrow to eyebrow and tender to the touch as well. I didn't want to take a lot of medicine but I got to the point where I couldn't handle it. Now if I don't take (a single) Tylenol Sinus at least twice a day, it's awful. Anyone else experience this? Any advice? If it's a sinus infection I'm hoping it goes away without antibiotics but docs seem to prescribe those so freely now so I've hesitated going to doctor. Thanks!

Firstly, stop taking that immediately. It has phenylephrine in it which is a huge no-no during pregnancy.

Secondly, it sounds like a sinus infection and that's only going to go away with antibiotics. I've had a non-stop cold my entire pregnancy (now 21wks) and it finally developed into a full blown sinus infection this past week. The pain and pressure were terrible...my sinuses hurt so bad my ear and my teeth were hurting. I've been on Augmentin for like 4 days and I feel like a brand new woman.

I also started doing a netti pot every day in the shower. That has helped tremendously!!

It won't go away. It sounds very similar to a sinus infection which can only be cleared up with antibiotics. You need to go to the dr and a look of sinus relievers aren't safe for pregnancy.
