Q: fetal movement

I'm 17 weeks and 5 days. I thought I would feel the baby move by now. Is it still too early to feel movement

Don't worry :) With my first I didn't feel ANYTHING until around 19-20 weeks and that was just tiny infrequent flutters. It took a few more weeks from there to feel regular kicks of any sort. (I did have an anterior placenta). With my second I started to feel tiny flutters a bit earlier around 15-16 weeks (if I didn't know what I was feeling I wouldn't know it was baby). I am now 18 weeks and just last night the stronger movements started.

I am 16 weeks and 2 days. I havent felt anything either. It has me a little worried also. But everyone keeps telling me to wait until about 20 weeks which sounds so far away lol. Everyone also tells me Im carrying small for 16 weeks so I would have thought I would have felt the baby already but I guess not.

My first pregnancy I was able to feel my little guy at about 15 weeks or so... this time around with my little girl I didn't feel her until about 20 weeks. I was so scared when I hit the 17 week mark & still didn't feel any movements! Everyone is different, and every pregnancy is different. Don't worry about it! Your LO should move soo

I wouldn't worry about it, especially if this is your first. My doctor said anywhere between 18 and 20 weeks is normal. Women who have been pregnant before may feel it sooner -- or, more accurately, they may recognize what they feel as fetal movement sooner. I've also heard it can take longer for overweight women to feel the baby move, but I don't know if that's true or if that's your situation. I'm overweight and felt the baby move for the first time about a week ago (about 18 weeks). But I was unsure until I described the feelings to my mom and doctor. I'm inclined to say you shouldn't worry just yet, in light of what my doctor told me.
