Q: Preggie bootcamp safe?!?!

I started taking a preggie bootcamp today and am wondering if it is safe for the baby. We did a lot of squats with some weights and ball exercises for my legs and back. I could talk through the execises but at times i was a little out of breath. I worked out before I got pregnant but after I found out I was pregnant I have only been walking. Do you think this is okay to do once a week?

I would talk to your dr. I am pretty sure lunges and squats are those exercises to avoid due the relaxin produced to sofften our bones and joints. I could be wrong though. Definitely talk to your Dr about the SPECIFIC exercises you're doing and make sure they are safe. Do some research and only do what you feel comfortable doing! *sigh* I am jealous that you get to work out......I am on restrictions :( and I am a former gym rat 7 days a week 2-4hrs a day

Yes! Specially since you worked before hand. My doctor says that the "being able to talk through workout" things is bogus and not something to go by. (I might add..that she has also put a published well known book that gets distributed OGBYN clinics for pregnancies.) Not that that means she knows everything..Lord knows I dont agree with all my docs all the time. :) She told me its ok to exercise tell you sweat. I dont go by that theory only because I didnt workout much before pregnancy...Good Luck
