Declan Timothy Haines's Birth Story

Checked in at 6 and pitocin was started a little after 7. Contractions started coming about 7:30 and continued to get closer and stronger. I bounced on the birthing ball for about 2 hours to help him move down. By 10:30 contraction were 3mins apart and pretty painful so I got back in bed. Around 11:45 doctor came in broke my water and placed an internal monitor to measure my contractions. After my water was broke contractions got much more intense and it took all I had to get through each one. I finally got my epidural about 12:30 and by 1:00 was feeling much better and tried to take a nap. At 3:05 I was feeling a lot of pressure with each contraction so nurse checked me and I was at 10 and his head was right there ready to come out. She went and got my doctor and I started pushing about 3:10. He heart rate started dropping so I had to be given oxygen and after 15 mins of pushing he was born:). I had two tears that required stitching and a few smaller ones that didn't. My dh and hospital staff were amazing and I'm so happy to have a fourth healthy baby boy and to have gotten to have my VBAC!

Thank you very much:). Things are going pretty well. Still trying to adjust to all the changes. Life is much different now then before baby but I wouldn't change it! How you things with you and you're baby girl?

Thank you ladies:). Sorry you can't have a VBAC but as long as you and baby are safe and healthy then that's all that matters. Wishing you the best!
