Scarlett Rayne's Birth Story

June 30 2015, At 7:30 pm I was called into the hospital for a scheduled induction. I was given cervadil and a foley was inserted to create a favorable cervix. By 6 AM the Foley was out and the induction was ready to begin, however there were no labor rooms available so we just kind of hung around the medical/surgical floor for a few hours. We finally got a delivery room at 3pm and pitocin was started at 5pm. By 8pm I requested an epidural, labor seemed to progress very slowly (from my point of view) and the epidural only worked on half of my body, the right side was pretty much unaffected so I was in a weird sort of pain. I only pushed for 10 minutes and Scarlett was in my arms, covered in meconium and the cord had been wrapped around her neck twice. She was vigorous at birth though and she continues to do well now!
