I had my 36w ob appointment on Thursday. I was 36w 3 days.Everything was fine with bub and me. She was still breach but I was already sheduled for a C section so i wasn't worried. I mentioned that on the Wed night she'd been extremely active and that I was having period like cramping and was very restless. I thought she may have been getting ready to come. The OB dismissed the comment.
Well on Thursday at around 7, i started getting very low abdominal pain which i instantly recognised from my first as being pre-labour pains. They started at around 30mins between contractions and lasting 30secs. I called the hospital but at that stage my mucus plug and waters were in tact and they said it wasn't labour. At around 11pm the contractions were getting stronger and longer so i called back and let them know - becuase baby was only 36 weeks 3 days, she was breech and I was scheduled for a C section on 3 June and had GD. Again they said to not worry unless my waters break.
Well they broke at 3am and i lost my plug at the same time. Fast forward to 6am and i'm prepped ready for surgery with very painful contractions by now. 6:50am she's born weighing 2.8kgs perfectly fine breathing etc.
Everything is going well and she is feeding. They are giving her some formula top up to ensure she gets enough milk being premie.

Comment from Mrsfingerscrossd » Posted Jun. 4, 2016 6:27pm Thanks ladies. We are home now and all is going well. She's small but putting on weight at a good rate. I'm still expressing breast milk and bottle feeding it becuase she uses too much energy breastfeeding. | |
