No Heartbeat at the Ultrasound

So, unfortunately, our first round of IVF resulted in a baby that didn't survive. I wanted to throw up when they couldn't find a heartbeat and told me to get dressed so we could talk about my next steps. Turns out my next steps are to wait for the bleeding to come (which still hasn't happened and I'm 8 weeks along tomorrow), or come in for a D & C. I haven't cried like that in years and years. We allowed ourselves to get our hopes up this time but nope, 3rd September in a row with a miscarriage. This just sucks....

So, I'll be 40 years old around Thanksgiving but we're going to keep trying on our own at home. No more throwing money at this when they can't even tell us why we keep having miscarriages. I'm feeling hopeless that we'll be able to add on to our family but feeling thankful and blessed with the family that I have and trying to continue to trust God's plan. I just purchased a miscarriage book on my Kindle that has good ratings. I can't wait to read that.

Baby dust to all of you. Treasure every moment. You're so blessed.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I could throw out some stories about my journey, but I won't. I will say a prayer for you and hope you have your miracle baby naturally. You are in my thoughts and prayers. <3

I'm really sorry for your loss. I have a 7yr old daughter and while trying to conceive number 2. I lossed 4 in 12mths all after seeing heartbeats accompanied by D&C's like you no reasons. It was put down to unbalanced chromosomes which are the underlying cause of 70% of miscarriages. I was on baby asprin progesterone etc. like you also I am 39. We kept trying and I just had my second child in April. I know it's extremely difficult at the time but after 6 pregnancies and just getting out 2nd bundle of joy I can now say and truly believe that everything happens for a reason even though I was broken into a zillion pieces at the time. I really hope you get your little miracle soon. I promise he/she will be worth that wait for you. Take Care, God bless xxx

I'm so sorry for your loss. :( Have you ever had a detailed immune workup done? I experienced 5 miscarriages before having our little miracle this past spring. All between 5-7.5 weeks and after seeing a reproductive immunologist who tested me for WAY more than my RE ever did we found my immune system was the problem and how to address it. I do agree on the repeat u/s JUST in case. I'm so so sorry you're having to go through this again. :( Sending a lot of love your way!

Before you have a D&C do one one more ultrasound checking for the HB. One of the friends I follow on here went to a ultrasound and they said there was no HB she went in for a D&C and checked one more time at her request and there was a HB. I'm so sorry about your news. I've had a miscarriage except mine happened on its own. Prayers are with u
