WSS vvvv. I was told by a friend whom is a midwife, you pay for what you get. So if you are looking for experience you will be paying more. The cost that she wrote out is pretty consistent to what it is here where I am.

It depends on the area, their experience, etc. But I've found them ranging from $400 to $1400. The most average price seems to be about $600. That typically includes a free consultation, a couple of prenatal visits, on-call availability from 38 weeks on, support from onset of labor until delivery, and 1 or 2 postpartum visits. I REALLY want a doula, but I can't find one in my area that is in the range we can afford. I'm still looking though...hopefully something will work out!
