After my baby shower meltodown yesterday, I am feeling much better today.

I had a long talk with a coworker who I have known since I was 15 and look up to in many ways.

She made a great suggestion that I get my mom and Phil's mom involved with planning, and just tell them everything we want to have at the shower, and that we will be happy to pay for the catering hall, etc. I think this way it will work out well! My mother in law can collect the responses, my mom can make something baby shower-ish like a diaper cake or something to appease the older ladies in my family, and there wont be any bad feelings of "she planned her shower and didn't even want her family to be involved". I think that was fantastic advice on the part of my friend. She also helped me realize that I always put stress on myself to plan these events, and in the end letting the baby grow and develop without added stress is what matters the most. Can't even say how grateful I was for advice like that...no judgment, just support. Thank you for your support too ladies, its nice to be able to write here and not be judged.

I need to let go of being the control freak I am when it comes to these things. I think I am ready to do this. Maybe it will even help me to be a better mom to this baby so I can give them some freedom to learn and make mistakes without having to control everything. No one wants a pain in the ass mom like that lol! I know I didn't!

Tomorrow we have our NT scan and appointment! I am pretty sure baby is okay in there and I am praying for a good result. I really can not WAIT to see the baby again!

Went to buy buy baby with Phil to start looking at some of the items we have been looking at online, and we were pleased with our choices! We like the Chicco brand, as the quality is there and the price is reasonable. We decided to go with a pack and play that has a bassinet instead of going with a "true" bassinet. I think its more reasonable and we can travel to see my in laws with it (despite the fact that my mother in law wants to make a nursery at their house). This is gonna be funnnnn!

I LOVE the travel set with bassinet, I used them for my daughter's and always thought they are much more functional. It is a joyous time for you and your hubby, all the planning and what not can be so stressful and although it is hard to give up control it is a good time to practice letting other people help you :) Either way, at the end of the day YOU need to be happy with the decisions on the shower and everything else surrounding your pregnancy and the baby, bc in all honesty your opinion and feelings matter most!
