Blood...Hemmeroid?
By acrichton » Posted Apr. 14, 2014 8:53am - 227 views - 5 comments

I went #2 this morning (sorry this will be gross)

And when I wiped there was a lot of blood on the paper. First I got scared but noticed it wasnt from my lady parts. I looked in the toilet and there was a lot of bright red blood. I called the Dr and he is thinking Hemmoroid, not cancer. But he said drink a lot of water and see how it is tomorrow.

He said if it persists to call the Gastro tomorrow and get an appt. They probably wouldnt be able to do a colonoscopy bc I am pregnant so what if it is something serious?

Please tell me others have experienced this? I was constipated a bit yesterday and the day before.

I dont really have any pain but I have pain in my colon off and on for years, since I have had diverticulitis in the past.

:( :(

I think it sounds like a hemorrhoid too. I know all about some fissures. Holy crap, you do NOT want to experience that.

I agree with Bammom. Probs further in your intestinal tract are usually dark brown or tarry in color and can pose a more serious problem than the bright red blood. I would also suggest stool softeners to make things more comfortable when going. Hemorrhoids or fissures can easily be caused my dehydration and/or constipation.

I have seen a lot of bright red blood on the paper before from hemorrhoids, but never in the bowl or in the water. It could most definitely (and most probably) be a bad hemorrhoid. They say that if blood is coming from further in your bowls it is typically darker brown or tarry looking by the time it makes it's way out. Don't panic just yet! Start taking some probiotics which are good for you and baby and they will help naturally loosen and soften your stool and make it easier to go. Also drinking lots and lots of water helps keep you from getting constipated :) Good luck!

Are you taking stool softeners? Do they help?
