Oh boy do I feel exhausted! I still havent recovered from our baby shower this weekend. It was a lot of fun and a great turn out. I dont know how I am going to do 2 more and later in my pregnancy! Then again also for these last 2 I wont have to travel 5 hours to my home town.

My wife did an amazing job on the decorations and hosting the party!! She did so much for the shower more than I wanted her to since she too was a mother in honor but she wanted to make sure everything was done right. The weather somewhat cooperated but it was too hot! Humid was more like it. Either way all the guest enjoyed themselves, had fun with our games fighting for participation and wanting to win the prizes we had. It was great to see all the family together for the event and enjoy each others company. My sister in law who is an artist had a wonderful idea to create a photo booth frame that said its a boy with little props of speech bubbles like coming soon.., and congrats signs to use while taking pictures. She even drew and decorated paper onesies and binky props. It was so much fun to take pictures with everyone and we got well over 200 pics that we need to go thru and print!! We didnâ??t get too many items from our registry but we still got a lot of gifts and a ton more clothes from our guests. We even got disposable diapers unfortunately when our invitations specifically stated we are cloth diapering and to go to the website where we plan to buy the cloth diapers if they wanted to purchase diapers for us. My wife decided to keep them for now just in case but I am strictly against using disposable diapers and will more than likely end up donating them to my church or a homeless shelter.

I became very emotional towards the end of the party after opening gifts and the partying all night because of all the love that could be felt at the party. And especially more so that we are a same-sex couple welcoming a baby to this world and how supportive and loving all my family is. Even a cousin of mine when she found me alone told me how happy and cool this was that were having a baby. She said she sees on TV same-sex couples having babies and never thought she would experience it in her family and is proud of us making our family. It was a very sweet gesture and more tears were shed as the result of her confession.

As tiring this weekend was I wont trade the memories, fun, and love we shared with our families. Next time we see them we will have a little infant to present to them to. 30 weeks down, 10 more to go!! :O)

Awww that's so sweet that your family is so supportive! =) It makes the whole thing way less scary when you know you have family that will be there for you <3
And that's a great idea to donate the disposable diapers! I plan on cloth diapering but am not completely against disposables either as there will be times where it's more convenient.
