This weekend we had my 3rd baby shower. One more and last one to go in a couple weeks. As much as I love my friends and family and getting cute gifts for baby Eli, I am so glad these parties are almost over!! LOL I am exhausted!! My best friend booked a really nice hotel suite that was as big as my condo! The master bath suite was super sweet with a shower big enough to fit at least 4 people with 2 shower heads and a jet massage bath tub that made me forget that I even had a shower to be at since I wanted to just soak my afternoon away!!
Back to the shower the appetizers were prepped by lovely wife with her exceptional culinary skills and a good friend of ours Candy. My wife even made the mustache cake since the theme this time was a little man mustache theme. We all had a good time putting on fake mustaches and taking pictures of our manly new looks! My bestie Kiki made up some interesting games to play one called preggo or porn where she would show us pictures of womans faces and we had to guess if they were pregnant or it was porn scene. LOL!! After we all guessed the whole picture was shown again to reveal and were surprised when some facial expressions were pregnant woman giving birth! It was hilarious and a great time.
Things got emotional again for me when opening gifts bc my friends are too generous. The big ticket item we got was a Je.ep running/walking stroller fit to work in all types of terrain for our adventures we will take with baby Eli! Not only that my bestie being a fitness fanatic told me its also to be used to bounce back after birth..haha. After gifts once everyone started to clear out my wife asked me if I agreed that we should ask our friends Candy and her partner G to be our godmothers. I couldnt agree more since these girls are the most loyal and loving friends that I have met in a really long time and have gotten really close to them. They were about to leave when my wife told them we needed to speak to them in private and to hang out a little longer. Once everyone left my wife fell apart for some reason and couldnt tell them why we asked to speak to them so I took over. On the verge of tears myself after witnessing my wife who NEVER cries I managed to spit out that we love them wanted to know if they would want to be our son Eli godmothers. The looked at each other speechless and they too fell apart. It was a happy emotional time and wonderful ending to a beautiful night.
Once the last baby shower is over it will be time to complete the nursery. I have plans to wash all of the baby clothes, blankets, and burp clothes to have everything ready to go. I also need to pack my hospital bag to ensure we are prepared for the BIG DAY!!
