Well I started my 14 weeks a minor accident on the freeway yesterday (5/27). A fender bender.

My day started normal. I had a 3 day weekend due to the holiday. Driving to work in the morning my commute came to stop and go as I approached a short cut way through the airport tunnel. I was driving only about maybe 10mph when some idiot came barreling down driving probably about 35-40mph. I just heard his tires screech, saw in my mirror his quick approach and then the awful sound of metal against metal! I freaked out!! We pulled over to the side as I calmed myself down and called my wife. I seen the guy that hit me jump out his car and start punching and kicking his car. I figured I give him a minute to cool off. I later got out and went over to him and he immediately said he was sorry, he was looking down texting his boss he was running late to work and didnt see me stopped! I just responded with now you're going to be even later. I started taking pictures of the damage to my car, location we were at, his registration and ins info. State of NV the police doesnt respond to non injury accidents so I didnt bother calling them. I just was going to make my way to the ER afterwards since I was concerned the impact may have hurt the baby.

The kid made his way away from the scene and I called my boss to tell her I wasnt making it in, his insurance to get my adjusters name, and my Dr if he would see me. My Dr wasnt in that day so they advised me to go to the ER which is what I was trying to avoid. I was hoping that me being pregnant would escalate me up to the top of medical care. I was wrong!! I left the scene to pick up my wife and she took me to the ER. After being poked, prodded, starved, blood drawn, carried a baggie with my urine in it (gross I know!!), got an ultrasound that they wouldnâ??t let me even see and 7 hours later, the Dr told me my little one was ok. He said the baby was nice and safe tucked away in the warmth of my uterus, actively moving though I still cant feel him or her, and release on a clean bill of health. Relief!!!

That is a scary feeling. I was in a car accident wjere my car was totalled at the beginning of this pregnancy when I didn't know I was pregnant. I shouldn't be alive with how much damage was done. I didn't go to the ER as I felt it wasn't needed, a week later I found out I was pregnant and was terrified that something may have happened to baby and was so happy that nothing was wrong. So happy whoever was looking out for me was also looking out for you. Congrats on your pregnancy.
