Failed glucose test
By lvlolo24 » Posted Aug. 14, 2014 12:07pm - 191 views - 4 comments

I am very upset, sad, scared, and mad that I failed my 1hr glucose test! The nurse called me and told me I need to come in for the 3hrs test beause my levels were slightly elevated. And mind you elevated by only 2 ML in the levels. She said normal levels they want to see is between 60 to 139 and I was at 141!! So now I need to go in tomorrow to complete the 3 hrs one and not looking forward to fasting for that long! :0(

I def will not pass up on the 3 hr test! I need to make sure all is well with not only my child but my body too. My little Eli needs a healthy mommy to care after him. I hope I pass the 3hr test with flying colors and if not I always believewe are not challenged with struggles that we cannot overcome. I will manage this if it comes to that! :O)

I have GD and i always had a "sticked" diet. I wouldn't refuse the test either. To each their own I suppose. If you fail the 3 hour, don't get upset. You may be able to control it with just changing your some.

Ummm...refusing the test is not a good choice at all and can put your baby at serious risks. She may think she doesn't eat sugary stuff but of she eats anything processed at all it has sugar in it. Even things you would never believe to have sugar in them do. Check labels if you don't believe me. Almost everything has sugar or high fructose corn syrup in them and normally in the first 3 ingredients. You may never have arp elm with sugar normally but when your pregnant your hormones can change everything. My friend who normally has no problem with it and eats very well has GD because of the change in her hormones. She has been able to keep it under control with her diet but has to monitor her levels after every meal. I'm going to guess because your levels were only 2 above you may pass the 3hr test but don't get too upset of you don't. It is not the end of the world and way better for you to know for your health and your babies than to not know you have it and have complications later.

I bet you'll pass the 3 hour with no problem!! I was just talking to a girl at work who is pregnant that is actually refusing the GTT. I didn't even know you could do that. She never drinks anything sugary and eats very little sugar so apparently drinking that sugary crap does crazy things to her body that would be incredibly unlikely to happen with her diet. Could that be your case? Do you not consume a lot of sugary stuff? Either way.. you were SO close that I am sure your 3 hour will be fine.
