Scary night.

I was aware if the braxtons being the most of the evening and upped the fluid even though I had been good all day drinking plenty of water. They were nothing more then tightenings so I paid then little attention and went to bed.
I woke up every 30 mins as the braxtons made me desperate for the loo, put them to the back of my mind thinking my extra water intake filling my bladder was actually the cause.
About 1.30am the little man wondered into our room and as I sat up to get him back to bed a braxton turned extremely painful and I collapsed back down and let the little man hey in bed with us.
I thought maybe I just pulled a muscle but not long after another came, just as painful and some of the worst I've had this entire pregnancy.
I think I had about 10 before I decided to wake hubby who put little one back to bed and started timing.
They came every 2 minutes but I refused to panic as they weren't pulling across my back, unfortunately about 45 minutes later they had wrapped around my back but I was convinced they weren't as painful just really uncomfortable.
We started discussing the plan to head to hospital but I said I'd try waddling round the house.
Baby kicked and wriggled still so I got up and walked around the house which seemed to help.
By 3am they were back to just tightenings that came and went randomly until morning, I won't lie, for a moment I thought I was in preterm labour for sure.
Scary scary night indeed.

It was but I'm glad too it eased off, at the back of my mind I was concerned but didn't want to panic too soon and possible make it worse.

At least you are past 30 weeks now! Hopefully she can wait to make her appearance a little longer. She is almost term!

Unfortunately in the UK our appointments are very much just taking measurements. I tried talking to the midwife about my bad braxtons and she told me to take a paracetamol. My appointment is next week but we just don't get the same care on the nhs unless I drive the 45mins to the hospital where normally they listen a little more.
I was told at about 19wks I have an irritable uterus which 'may' cause preterm labour before 30wks after which the risk drops by a lot but can also just cause a lot of pain and discomfort.
Luckily I've learnt a few tricks to see if I can get the braxtons to ease off but this was my longest episode so really doubted myself.

Scary indeed. When is your next appointment?they can do a test to see how at risk you are for preterm. I had one done last pregnancy at 34 weeks when I had food poisoning. My OB just swabbed. Down there for the test. It came back negative so they stopped my contractions. I don't know what would have happened if it came back positive but I know there is a way they can tell.
