This is Happening

It has been only 6 days since I found out I was pregnant. I have wanted a kid forever but at first I was just miserable because of how sick I've been feeling. I don't know if I am legitimately feeling better due to the B6/Unisom I started taking, or if I'm just getting better at focusing on the fun stuff, but I'm feeling a lot more optimistic the last few days.

I bought the baby a toy, it's basically a plush giraffe/baby blanket hybrid. I just wanted to have something tangible, I guess, as evidence that this is really happening. And maybe something to comfort me when I'm feeling miserable. :/ I'm such a child myself, always longing for comfort, it's a bit scary thinking about how uncomfortable a lot of this experience is going to be.

Tomorrow I get to meet my child for the first time. I am nervous and excited. I'm afraid I am going to start bawling or something right there on the doctor's table during the ultrasound, because it seems like I cry at the drop of a hat these days.

I don't think Dom is going to be able to make it. He has asked a dozen people to cover for him at work, but it doesn't look like it is going to happen. This makes me sad. He is so excited and it's probably going to drive him nuts having to wait until the end of the day to hear all about it.

It's driving me nuts having to wait until tomorrow morning!
