The Big Announcement

*In case anyone actually reads this, sorry ahead of time but here is a fair warning: There is quite a bit of TMI throughout my journals.*
I decided that I wanted to do something super cute to tell everyone if we were having a boy or a girl... none of the just saying "Oh it's a ___" stuff that sooooo many people do. So we went to the store and got birthday invitations and a bunch of fake pink lotus flowers. I went to my grandma's house first to tell her and set up my little plan.
A little bit of insight on my grandma: She is 73, has 5 children (4 girls and 1 boy) has 10 grandchildren (5 girls and 5 boys) and has 6 great grandchildren (ALL boys)... I have NEVER in my life seen someone so happy to see the words "It's a girl" on an ultrasound lol. I'm pretty sure it almost gave her a heart attack but she was so thrilled that it was worth it.
We took a picture of the bundle of flowers on top of a birthday invitation for my mom and sent it to her... she was also incredibly thrilled (even though she already has 2 granddaughters from my stepdad's kids) because either way, I was finally having a baby after all the losses and drama over the course of the last 3 years.
We then split the flowers up and filled out the birthday invitations with our daughter-to-be's name and due date with all other information to be announced later and went individually to each member of my family's houses and handed them one. While I was having a blast with that, my hubby was calling his family individually telling each one of them (since they live in OH and we couldn't go there from FL just to tell them its a girl lol).
Lyla Rose Myers is due 1/26/12 and I'm sooooo excited! January can't get here soon enough lol.
