Wrong apple?

I'm having fun with this. So most apps and websites will liken a 5 week embryo to the size of a sesame seed. Well, of course, I loved the visual ticker of baby to food size and The Bump had one.

The Bump has 5 weeks to be an apple seed. Since I have both apples and sesame seeds, I was curious to see how close they were in size because I really thought apple seeds were a lot bigger. I cut open an apple and took a couple seeds and compared them to some black sesame seeds along a measuring tape.

A lot of places also say that "The embryo is 1/16 to 1/8 inch long" at 5 weeks. According to my measurements of the apple and sesame seed, the sesame seed is definitely more accurate.

Maybe I just have the wrong kind of apple. It was a delicious honeycrisp.

I'm totally looking for lentil stuff for this weekend, but then I noticed they were all different sizes too. I was like, crap, which size lentil do I need to get? I think the red and green ones are smaller than the regular? Is there a regular? I'm not really a plain lentil person, so I'm not sure.

I've always loved the comparison charts! I used to point it out to my husband every time we were grocery shopping when I was pregnant with my daughter! :)

This is great! How does such a small little thing cause so much bloat?!

Wow...that's a teeny tiny little seed. Lots of growing in the next 9 months :).

I know! I had given my husband a sesame seed to show him and I think I might try to keep that up. It's actually pretty cool to see it in person, but I will refrain from dumping a watermelon in his lap... maybe. ;)

Wow, it's amazing to see how small our little ones are at the beginning and then to think how big they are at the end!
