How much should I worry?
By M.gulud » Posted Sep. 18, 2015 7:35am - 316 views - 4 comments
This morning I heard my coworker coughing really badly and then I remembered that I heated up my breakfast burrito after her two days ago. So I touched the microwave and my food without washing my hands in between because I didn't think about it.
Now I feel sniffly and a bit congested, but also my throat is starting to feel scratchy, so I know something is coming. How much should I worry? The coworker isn't feverish which is my biggest concern. But I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and I'm not so fond of the idea of being sick in the first trimester. My first appointment is Monday, but that is a whole weekend away.
I know if I'm feverish that I can take Tylenol, and I know I will call my doctor if I get too worried. Is there anything else that isn't medicine or questionable herbs that I can take? I know even too much vitamin C is bad.
Welcome to cold and flu season I guess. :(

Comment from pbc910 » Posted Sep. 18, 2015 10:32am Just keep taking your prenatal (for all the good vitamins) and rest rest rest!!! I've been around so many sick people during this pregnancy and never thought about it! Oops.
Comment from M.gulud » Posted Sep. 18, 2015 9:58am Thank you ladies. It very much could be allergies, I just don't think it is because of how it feels. If it doesn't get worse then I will be thankful! It will stink if I get that cough on top of the somewhat nausea.
Comment from MalPal85 » Posted Sep. 18, 2015 8:52am I wouldn't worry too much. Just rest and drink lots of water. I just got over a pretty bad cold (or something along those lines) at 26 weeks. It sucks but our bodies are made to handle this sort of thing with a little baby in there :).
Comment from ch3rrypie11 » Posted Sep. 18, 2015 7:48am I would try not to worry which I know is easier said then done. The best thing at this point to do is try to get plenty of rest and stay very hydrated. I also would drink 1 glass of OJ every day in my first trimester. Could it also be allergies? I know this time of year they start up for me! best if luck to u! |
