He's here!!! (Finally!)

To follow up from my 39+2 appointment...
I had more prodromal labor and mucus, but it would all stop if I went to sleep. Went to my 40+2 appointment and was 3cm and 60% effaced, so I asked for another sweep. That gave me more prodromal labor and mucus but nothing consistent.
We also scheduled induction for 5/5. Hospital picked the date, doctor said 5/9 or sooner.
The morning of the induction, I called in. I was delayed 5 hours because they were busy. Once in and started pitocin, all was OK, but around 4 hours in, things escalated quickly. I felt like the contractions were nuts and I swear that the break between them was less than the length of contractions. (Adding this for Dakota) I was rocking around on all fours on the bed, mooning (and probably more) the ER parking lot from the 3rd floor.
So I begged for an epidural. Best thing ever. At that point I was 7cm, fully effaced, but -2, so they broke my water. An hour later I was throwing up, so they checked and I was complete, but they wanted his head to come down more. They said let them know if I feel pressure, and I am not sure that I did, but my back was hurting and I could feel the contractions, so a half hour later, I said I wanted to push. It took til the 5th contraction pushing and he was here!
We did skin to skin and happy to find out that he was only 8.5 lbs. That is big according to my doc, but he looks tiny to me. We're home now and adjusting.

I did get a door that was always open and a giant yellow ball shoved between my legs to keep my hips open...so all were greeted by my vag when they walked in. It was awesome! There's no shame when ur in pain lol!! So glad everything ended up going well for u. Hope u continue to update when u have a chance! =)) {{Hugz}} |
