So I know i shouldn't feel bad about gaining weight, but passing the 200 mark on the scale has been a big downer for me this past week. My doctor says my weight gain is fine and not to worry about it, but man i was hoping to never cross that line. It also doesn't help when the first thing my grandpa says when he sees me is "my how fat you you", at least 4 or 5 times each visit. I know that he is old and has not filter, but man it is not what I want to hear right now.

In other news, not much has been going on this past week. I am trying to get things wrapped up and handed off at work now since i have declared that I will start leave on the 29th (I am assuming I will make it then since i feel i will be late). I have been making sure to drink a lot more water this past week, and have basically stopped having BH contractions. So i think i was a bit dehydrated.

My work group threw me a wonderful baby shower. It is funny though because we don't have many girls in our office, so baby showers are new to most of them. They all chipped in and got me a toy chest filled with toys, books, and clothes. My bosses daughter even painted on whales to match the theme of the nursery and added our last name to it as well. Very cute.

I can't wait until my appointment on Friday. Hopefully they will say that all is still going well. I have been worrying a bit because my feet and hands are swelling a lot more, and i gained a bit more than normal the past couple of weeks. It is good to know that I am officially considered term now (although technically pre-term until 39 weeks). It is also always a comfort to feel the kicks in the morning and throughout the day.

You look great!! I've noticed an increase in swelling as well, mostly in my feet. We're both almost there! :)

Thanks Starmama. I am trying to take it easier, putting my feet up after work. With the numbers i know it is not bad, just a mental block that I have. Hopefully like you said, the numbers will come down after birth. I am looking forward to that.

You look fantastic! I was in the same situation when I was preggo the first time with my daughter. I had horrible swelling toward the end and started gaining a lot of weight too (I was just above 200 when I gave birth to my daughter). Don't worry too much about the number on the scale...that magically comes off within the first few weeks! And as long as you keep pumping the fluids, the swelling will go down a bit. Try to rest and get your feet up when you can too - that helps! Good luck with everything! Keep us updated - you're almost there :)
