10 week scan and NIPT blood test
By Mrsfingerscrossd » Posted Nov. 18, 2015 2:17pm - 276 views - 4 comments

Yesterday I had my 10 week scan and genetic screening blood test. Baby measured 10w2d which is exactly where was and had a heartbeat of 178 which given the 7 week scan was 134 surprised me. The nurse said week 9/10 the heartbeat was the fastest it would be. She said there was no way you could tell the sex from the heartbeat. Bummer.

Little bub was moving around heaps and kicking. My husband gasped and laughed when he saw the baby. He said he had a tear in his eye and only then did this pregnancy seem real to him and did he realise how much he wanted this baby :). Bless him.

We asked for the blood results to also tell us the sex of the baby so i'll hear back about that next week.

We are praying everything shows up fine with the bloods and 12 week anatomy scan. After that we will announce it to the world. Lol.

Aww, what a great story and picture! That's so exciting you're finding out the gender soon. I waited for 12 weeks to announce too. It's such a relief once it's finally out there.
