1-hr Glucose Challenge = Fail :(

I'm so upset that I failed the 1-hr glucose test. That means I have to drink MORE of the sugar drink that made me feel like crap for two days, UGH!!!!

Now, I have to fast from 10pm the previous night until the test is over the next day .... lovely. I hope and PRAY that I pass the 3hr. Otherwise, it will be off to the specialists along with more OB appointments.

My level was at 136 and the RN said they labs want my numbers below 132 or 134. So, I barely failed but it's still a fail :(

	Comment from NewMommy07 » Posted Jan. 13, 2012 3:37pm If your number was that low, then you have a great shot at passing the 3 hour test! I know the stuff is gross, but go for the orange if you can since it's the least unappealing. My levels were 218 after the 1hr, and now I'm on insulin with the GD to control high sugar. You're so close to normal that you could easily control spikes with diet, try not to stress out too much!! Good luck!!

I go back on this Thursday for the 3hr one and I'm totally dreading it. They did my test early b/c I have insulin resistance so at higher risk for GD :( I'm glad to know there's hope for passing the 3hr if the 1hr failed! /hugs.

Be careful when you drink the solution...it made me feel as if I was going to pass out & I had to lay down..take some magazines & music with you. I wound up waiting 4 hrs & every hour they took my blood...I hate needles!!!
