Wow, hard to believe I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow! Things are still going well, or better, since my morning sickness has subsided quite a bit already. It was really bad for 8 or 9 days, and then starting about 6w3d it is now mostly just triggered by a smell or food I eat. I have been able to eat much better (still not completely back to normal). I would say what I "crave" most is sour foods like green grapes, kiwis, and lemon juice on everything. Strawberry yogurt is also a favorite right now.
Today was the day I was going to have my first midwife appointment, but we rescheduled for next week because my DH will be able to join me then. I basically got the impression that she wouldn't even attempt to listen for a heartbeat today, so after that I wasn't overly anxious to get in ASAP. I'm not sure if she will try next week or not, but I sure am looking forward to that day, if not this appointment then definitely the next one!

Comment from Meghan83 » Posted Feb. 25, 2017 9:16am Thanks Starburstice, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one without a 6 week ultrasound! With it being my first pregnancy, it was good to have my appointment (yesterday) at basically 9 weeks, so I could get all the information. I could see how in subsequent pregnancies it would be fine to wait until the end of first trimester though. | |
Comment from starburstice » Posted Feb. 22, 2017 11:22pm Yeah usually most won't even try to find it until 12-14 weeks, because it's still really hard before that and they don't want to cause unnecessary worry if they can't find it before then. Another reason some don't try look yet is because the heart is still in a critical stage and they don't like to cause stress to it from the doppler waves. The early appts do tend to be boring before fundus can be measured or heart best checked, people think I'm nuts but I usually just wait until at least 12 weeks for my first appt for that reason lol |
