The end of this pregnancy has a cutoff date. IF I don't go into labor on my own by 12/12/12, they will be taking Zachary by c-section. I am making my peace with the possibility that this baby will not be a VBAC as I originally had hoped for. I can't say that I am not feeling a little bummed by the news but I also want a healthy baby boy.
I had a sonogram yesterday and Zach was measuring @ 41 weeks which is 4 weeks ahead of schedule. They estimate that he weighs 8lb 7oz +- 1lb. Given that I have 3 weeks to my due date that puts him right around 9 to 10lbs at birth. My OB is very supportive of my trying a VBAC and he even tried to see if he could get labor started yesterday. Unfortunately, I am not dilated, effaced, and Zachary is still pretty high. I was hoping that maybe I would have been a little further along since I had some good, regular contractions last week but alas they were not productive ones.
I have my prior c-section working against me because they cannot induce me not that I want to be. Hoping that I can kickstart things myself using some various techniques suggested by other Moms. I don't have high expectations of any of them working but it will be worth a try.
