12 week (Nuchal) scan all good!

Well I never thought I would get to this point and beyond. We turned up to the same hospital that we had had the fateful 12 week scan 18 months ago. We were both a bag of nerves and to top it all they kept us waiting for an hour so we were absolutely bricking it by the time we got into the room. The scan went brilliantly, she showed us all of the anatomy and all we kept hearing was, yes that looks fine, that looks good etc etc so we got the all clear! Baby was measuring as it should be, the nuchal fold was 1.3mm and the downs risk was 1-17700 so we are over the moon to have reached this important milestone. We tell parents tonight which I can't wait for! I have no idea what to do now we have got to this point, we haven;t allowed ourselves to think that far ahead so we need to start thinking of the future!

I have had 5 miscarriages and the wait for that image to come up on the ultrasound and see a beating heart and hear the magical words of "looks good" from the tech is quite possibly the best thing in the world... aside from having a healthy baby you're going to get to hold in your arms. So happy for you!! Now time to enjoy being pregnant. |
