Packed for the Hospital/Birth Center
Had a doctors appointment yesterday and it was stressed to my husband and I how important is is to get mine and baby's bags packed and the car seat installed ASAP. Not sure if she knows something I don't know or is just trying to get us more prepared. Either way, baby's bag is packed and my bag is mostly packed - only things left are the things I still use every day. I did make a list of things that still need to go into my bag just in case my hubby has to finish packing it though. The car seat will probably be installed in the next few days. If I take it to Babies R Us they will install it for me :)

Prental Tests: Group B Strep Test (GBS)
I had my GBS test today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I will get the results at my appointment next Monday :) The doctor also checked me and said that she could only get a fingertip in my cervix...so I guess that means nothing is happening :( Oh well, only 3 more weeks until I am induced!

3 hour glucose test
I failed the 1 hour glucose test and told the doctor that I didn't want to do the 3 hour test. I asked her if she would just treat me like I have gestational diabetes and she encouraged me to do the 3 hour test just to be sure. She said I was very close so we should retest and see. I am positive I have it though, which sucks, but I have no choice but to accept it and move on. Will hopefully hear results Friday.

My son saw the baby move for the first time
Owen was moving around like crazy in my belly so I told Kaden to come over and watch for a few minutes. He really got a kick out of saying something to my belly and then watching Owen move inside. Then he got brave and would press down a bit on a part of my tummy and watch Owen kick back :) It was too cute to watch his face. Kaden is 9 years old and hasn't really taken an interest in the baby until now. I hope it continues :)

Prental Tests: Glucose Challenge Test
I had myself all worked up that I was going to get sick, if not from the taste of the drink then from the effect the glucose would have on my body. I was totally wrong...it was not bad at all. Now just waiting to hear the results :)

Picked a Name
We have had a name picked out for about a month now, but I forgot to record it. Our little boy will be named Owen Michael Guertner or OMG! Right now we are just calling him baby Owen :)

Finished the Nursery
The nursery isn't 100% finished but really close. My husband and daughter painted the walls baby blue, put the crib together and put the bedding on (I still have to wash it but will wait till it gets closer. They also got the dresser/cubbies put together and filled with clothes, and the changing table brought upstairs. I am still waiting for my husband to bring the glider over from my parents house and bring up the bookshelf from the basement. I bought a cute sweet pea picture frame for the ultrasound picture we will get on Monday. I am going to start painting the wooden letters I bought for the wall above his crib that will spell his name. Other than that, we are all set! Now just need the baby to complete it :)

Found Out Baby's Gender
It's a boy! I know it is really early but the u/s tech was very sure of herself. I had an external u/s first and she said it was looking like a boy but she couldn't tell for sure because baby was sitting on my cervix and wasn't budging. She said the doctor was running late with appointments so if I wanted to she would do a quick internal u/s. I said absolutely! She did it and right away she said it is a boy. It figures because I have been looking at all of the girl stuff and had girl names picked out that I really liked. I am actually relieved that it is a boy though, I think I would spend way too much money buying all of the cute girl clothes!

Announced Baby's Gender to Family
We found out earlier in the day at our u/s appointment that we are having a boy! We wanted to tell the kids first since they were both hoping for a little brother. They were very excited when we told them. We then announced it to family and posted everything on facebook. Everyone is so excited for us!

Felt My Baby Move for the First Time
It felt like a goldfish swimming around! I know it was the baby because I now feel it moving a couple of time a day :)

Announced Pregnancy to Family
My mom and dad were excited! Not sure about my 2 sisters, they were rather stand-offish after the announcement. One of my sisters replied "well, don't expect us to spend more money on your kids at Christmas" Really? Because that is the farthest thing from my mind! I sure hope they come around by the time the baby arrives.

First Ultrasound
This was my first ultrasound, but not my regularly scheduled one. I had one because of some spotting and cramping. I got to see the little heartbeat though, which was amazing! There is so much on the internet about ectopic pregnancies and blighted ovums that I was so glad to see that everything, for the most part, is ok :)

Announced the pregnancy to our kids
It didn't go like I had hoped, I think they were in shock. Their reaction made me sad, but then after a few days they began to warm up to the idea :)

Bought Baby's First Outfit
I just couldn't resist...I bought 2 new little outfits for our little peanut! I was in Old Navy and just looking around and found a "My First Valentine's Day" romper and a "Mommy's little lucky charm" outfit for St. Patrick's Day. Both outfits were on sale. I don't know if our llittle peanut is going to be a boy or girl but the outfits could go either way. I wasn't sure what size to buy so I just went with the 0-3 months on both since I am due 1-1-13 and the baby will be 1 1/2 months old on Valentine's Day and 2 1/12 months old on St. Patrick's Day.

Started Wearing Maternity Clothes
I bought some maternity shirts and decided to try one out today. I really like the shirts because they are not clingy like some of my other t-shirts. I can't wait till I really need them. I am also wearing them because we haven't told our children or our families yet. We are trying to hold out until Mother's Day weekend to tell the kids and Mother's Day lunch to tell the family.

First Positive Pregnancy Test
I thought for sure I wasn't pregnant because I started to spot and have cramps at 7dpo. The morning of 9dpo I decided to take a test and saw a slight shadow. I went to work and came home for lunch and took a FRER and it was positive! We were so happy!

On April 19, 2012 at 3 weeks 1 day pregnant
Told Husband/Partner
My husband was right there with me when I read the test. We were both so excited! It felt like we were in a dream!

Thanks for the congrats!! After having Emily I can see how it's tough getting anything done let alone respond to people! I finally got my birth story put on here! So how are things going with you?? Your little one will be here before to long!! :-). I noticed a comment another person made and they said something about having their baby girl on the 6th of December and they named her Emily!! My boyfriend was right, now that we named her Emily...we are going to notice that name a lot more! But anyways, my little girl is starting to attack her little hands...time for a feeding!!!

I am still working and probably will until the day, I saved up time, plus my maternity leave so I could have as much time at home with him as I can so I should have about 8 weeks, maternity leave cover 6 paid and then the rest is my vaca time and sick time. Its nots so bad because I work in an office with a very understanding boss! I am planning on having an epidural but ya know whats funny is last time I guess it didn't take? I felt everything, even them stitching me up? Is that normal? To be honest I am not really concerned about the pain, I know its horrible but I don't really care. Im really ready to not be pregnant. It may sound bad and all but I love my children more than anything but really dislike the pregnant stage, and with the labor process I just tell myself if you work hard at it, it'll all be over soon! hahahaha

I'm happy to be back, and I'm crossing my fingers things turn out fine this time.
I see you'll be giving birth very soon, how exciting!

Yep we are literally stuck in the same place! You know whats even more weird for me is not only is this not my first but I have had surgery on my cervix when I was a teen that is supposed to make it incompetent (sp.) so its supposed to open sooner....um nooooo! lol Oh well what can I do, i am too chicken to try to get things started on their own! hahaha We are so ready for baby Kyle its not even funny! Everyone said oh you aren't going to make it to Christmas blah blah blah I just want to smack them now! (even my grandma lmao jk) Induction didn't go nearly as long for me as it did for you. I went in at 7:30am, dr. examined me and my water broke on her (talk about relief of pressure :p) then I sat, and sat, and sat....he was FINALLY born at 11:38pm! They say this is supposed to go faster this time but I am seriously not holding my breath for anything with this child! He is just like his father already....STUBBORN AND HARD HEADED!!

Don't you just want to scream? lol Sorry maybe thats just me. I saw my doctor too yesterday she told me I am 1.5cm dilated, still only 50% effaced and that he is in station -2 which I wasn't sure what that meant, googled it....he is still high! How the heck is he so high when he feels like he is going to fall out if I cough too hard? Hahaha We are going to discuss the time next Tues when I go in on the 18th...I know here its usually first thing in the morning so you have all day to progress and see what happens. Did that with my first. I just kinda feel broken....my body doesn't seem to want to do the labor process at all....I had to be forced into it last time and seems that will happen again :(

Well chickady it looks like I am going into be induced on the 27th! I show no progress and unless something drastically changes in the next 12-14 days we will be induced :( Not what I had hoped for but at least I can say 2 more weeks and I meet my lil man! Hope you are well....did you have any appointments this week yet?
