It probably happened sometime in the last few weeks, but Dr. Graham said, "the head is right there," meaning right on the other side of my cervix, which is a good sign that labor is imminent.

We struggled with the base for about 30 minutes before hubby decided to enlist a professional. The fire dept. wouldn't do it, but the State Trooper saved the day! IT's in Daddy's car securely and looks quite nice. We are ready for D-Day!

AMAZING DAY!! Everyone managed to keep the (jungle) theme and location from me until my arrival. It was great to be surrounded by so much love. Baby, Hubby and I are truly blessed.

Had dinner at Jackson 20, spent the night at Monaco Alexandria, had massages at Lorien Spa and then went to the movies at Hoffman. Wonderful time!!

Started Childbirth Classes
We did an all-day birth class at AAMC. There was lots to see and learn! I did not know newborn girls have a "period" due to mom's hormones leaving her body. YIKES. Filled out my hospital bag checklist and got a tour. We are feeling pretty prepared.

Felt My Baby Move for the First Time
I have been feeling muscle twinges for a few weeks, but around 2:21pm yesterday, I pressed down with my fingers against the area that was spasming and felt what seemed like a ball rolling over. Strange and exciting! Then today I felt a flutter across my abdomen around 8:30pm after eating spicy chili. I guess it'll start getting more frequent.

Husband/Partner Felt Baby Move for the First Time
I called hubby in to feel what I believe was the baby moving. He kept his hand there for a minute and then snatched it back as if my stomach bit him. LOL SO funny.

Listened to HB at Home!
We got our Stork Radio on Monday and tried it out just before bed. I found the heartbeat immediately and it was so awesome! We called our parents so they could listen over the phone. Magical moment.

Started Wearing Maternity Clothes
I'm both excited and a little in shock about putting on my first maternity sweater today! I really need pants more, because mine are painfully tight, but they're still in the mail. I've also ordered a heavy and a light coat, another sweater and a pair of jeans. It's starting to feel very real, and shopping is always fun.

Announced Pregnancy to Family
As the family went around the room telling what we were thankful for, hubby stated that he was especially thankful for me and exposed his t-shirt, which read, "Fatherhood University Freshman Class 2013." Everyone cheered, some said they had been suspicious, and I got it all on video!

Hubby Heard Heartbeat for the First Time
Smiling from ear to ear, he said, "that's cool!" and asked if it was a strong heartbeat.

Heard Baby's Heartbeat for the First Time
Awesome to hear baby's heartbeat today! It sounded just like it does in the movies. LOL 167 beats per minute. Nice and strong. I'm so glad it's healthy.

Threw Up for the First Time
Sounds like a gross/strange milestone to record, but I have been battling horrific nausea for three weeks with no relief. I went to brush my teeth to get the ever-present nasty taste out of my mouth, and gagged (now that my reflex is ultra-sensitive). That triggered my first "morning" (8:30pm) sickness vomiting and it was actually very much a relief.

First Positive Pregnancy Test
I was three days late, which NEVER happens, but still skeptical because we weren't officially trying and I felt what could have been period symptoms. I took a test quickly before heading to church Sunday evening and glanced at it, poised to throw it out. To my surprise, it was positive, and I immediately teared up and got flush in the face. I didn't tell my husband until later in the evening. I wanted to do something incredible to let him know we were having our first baby, but it was late, and I couldn't wait until the next day. I made up a reason to run to the store, bought some "It's a Boy/Girl" balloons and sneaked back in the house. I tied the positive HPT to the balloons and told him I got him something for lunch the next day. He said, "Oh, yeah? What?" I said, "this" and handed him the balloons, pulling his gaze away from the TV. He could hardly believe it. Grinning ear to ear, he kept saying, "Are you serious?!"
