Q: Any mothers planning to breastfeed and smoke MJ?

Hey ladies!
I'm sure some of you out there indulged in some bud before your pregnancies, and are DYING to start back up, like me, are you waiting till after you're done breastfeeding? Or will you start up once your little one is born?
In MY opinion, marijuana is completely safe. And although some THC will pass through my breast milk, I believe it can be nothing but beneficial. And I do plan on smoking the moment my baby takes a nap when I bring him/her home.
It'll make me a calmer mother, and who knows, maybe the THC will make my baby calmer and more content.

What're your opinions on this matter?
Have you smoked during breastfeeding with your previous children? How did they turn out, perfectly normal?

Please no hate, this is just an opinion based poll!

Well actually they shouldn't.. epidural goes into the spine not directly into your blood stream.. it numbs you not the baby... with everything in life you have "possible"side effects.. taking drugs increases that a ton.. this question also has nothing to do with epidural... Maybe someone should go and talk about that next? Also mj will go to your baby if your breastfeeding... Any type of medication canhurt the baby and no baby should not have to drink that. Breast milk is better for the baby if you are eating and drinking very healthy

Actually epidurals are not a bad thing! It's the only thing that SAVED me and my children! I just don't understand how ignorant you are being. I can't even blame it on being young. I was never that ignorant at your age, even if I didn't have my children till early 20's. People are trying to help you, give you advice, keep in mind you're carrying another person inside of you, telling you just need to be safe! But you won't hear anything of it! Epidurals saved my children because I personally can only have emergency c-sections. Almost lost both my children and almost myself during labor for my second one. So, for you to sit there and complain about epidurals is rather stupid. I just hope for your sake, that when you do have your child...that you don't have to have the choice of having an epidural to save your baby or to not have an epidural because of your thought process on anything!

Yeah well they should, they're harming their babies.
If it's such a big deal for MJ which has no bad effects (you guys should read new studies on it) then something as bad and drug filled as an epidural should be just as illegal.
And I'm sure you all are gonna be all 'oh you're such an idiot blah blah blah' but it's because you know it's true.

Thankfully no one will be thrown in jail or have kids taken away by having an epidural..

I wasn't going to reply to this question because you are obviously too dumb to take any advice in the first place but I'll give it a go. First of all you comparing mj to an epidural is laughable. But the question wasn't based on an epidural, had you asked what are your opinions on an epidural you would have gotten the good and the bad on that as well. If you can't run with the big dogs stay on the porch! Many women will say it is because you are young and immature and I call bullshit. I had my first child when I was 15 years old. The minute I knew I was pregnant my priorities changed. Of course I had smoked pot before, drank and smoked cigarettes Not a day after finding out I was pregnant did those things come back in my life. And I was only 15, still a child myself but I stepped up and changed my ways. So age has nothing to do with it. Now when you are done breastfeeding and you start smoking again, more power to you. But don't be an idiot and smoke before then.

I love how everyone rates the only sensible answer on here 'no not helpful' you're all ignorant, and I'm done with this question. this has proven that this site is not for support, and if you want support you better meet 'perfect parent' standards. It's ridiculous
What about epidurals? Most women out there get it now and how many side effects are there? Fetal distress, causing a fussy baby after birth, it hinders the baby's ability to nurse, bond and recover properly after delivery, longer labor = more effects of it.
BUT ALL THAT IS OKAY!? Are you serious!? Do you guys see how RIDICULOUS you sound now? You're willing to give your baby a drug cocktail because you're in PAIN during labor? But you think a little MJ with has NO real side effects, is going to make ME a bad parent!? Yeah.
Try to tell me all about sacrifices now.
Peace.

THANK YOU Jess!
No I have not quit for 9 months yet, it's been since I found out I was pregnant. BUT i have not had a single hit of MJ since I got my BFP. That's gotta show a little responsibility right? That's what I thought. I was just asking a simple question, and thank you for being the only sensible one on here!
That bitch Krod has way too much to say, she just needs to hop off now.
And you guys shouldn't be using your hard time getting pregnant to make me feel like shit, that's your problem not mine. You shouldn't let that cloud your judgement on how to answer a HARMLESS question like a civil human being.
