My sister says she lost the most weight after she stopped breastfeeding. I have been nursing my daughter for two years, I lost weight when I was most active, now that I am not as active, I have gained ten pounds! Everyone is different, I think eating healthy and staying active will help you lose more weight along with nursing.

Breast feeding is a great way to lose baby weight. Unless you have a retarded dr like I did. My daughter was born Jaundice and my OB at the time said no breast feeding (you need to breast feed period if they are jaundice, found that out) so I stopped. I was unable to drop any weight before this pregnancy.

I have lost weight up until recently I have started to regain what I lost but my appetite is soooo ravenous after I pump or breast feed that I tend to just eat whatever is around and convenient , even if that means brownies. :/. But yes in the first week of breast feeding I dropped over 6 lbs!

Afraid I can't answer, as this is my first baby, BUT my mum says breastfeeding is a great way to slim down - you burn loads of extra calories. In terms of actual weight, I'm guessing you lose a bit when you stop breastfeeding because you don't have the weight of the milk any more and your breasts shrink. That probably doesn't mean you'd lose any weight in fat though, but I'm just guessing :)
