Q: Mums who've had c-sections - what kind of maternity pads did you use?

Does one really need that big-ass maternity undie and big-ass maternity pads...? It looks so uncomfy to me. :(

But let me hear what you have to say - what worked well for you?

i just used my normal knickers and maternity pads which was fine, but I found after a week I was able to use normal pantyliners as you dont bleed as much with a c-section.

With both of mine I wore the mesh undies at the hospital and then swiched to regular underwear that didn't put pressure on my incision when I got home...I didn't bleed much except the first few days so I used the. Hospital pads till I went home and just switched to the thin overnight pads. I'm almost 3 weeks pp and regular pads have been fine for me for about a week now since the bleeding has pretty much stopped unless I over do it then it starts up again

I bled alot after all mine were born. Ive had 4 csections. W/ the 1st 1 I changed to reg panties asap & found it was brutal on my incision. So got bigger ones & couldnt stand the pressure of the waist band on my tummy either. I went back to the mesh ones sent home w/ me frm the hosp. After that I came to terms w/ them. They look awful but r the most comfortable thing to wear the first couple wks while things heal & shrink back. And as a plus I didnt care if they got stained or ruined, as they were getting thrown away anyways & I hadnt spent a small fortune on them.

the hospital gave me the big giant ones - then I had to use the big giant ones once I was home too, the bleeding afterwards is just the same as after a natural birth. well mine was anyway.
