Q: Gender on ultrasound

My next doctor's appointment is next week. I will be 15 weeks, 3 days on that day..

We have decided to find out our baby's gender and ever since I have been bursting with curiousity.

Will we be able to have a pretty good idea by then (in terms of certainty)? (Sonar)
When did you find out and did it turn out to be accurate?

Thanks!!

I got an ultrasound done at 14 weeks and it was clear as day there was no weenie. Had the black fluid line between her legs. I got another ultrasound done on the 28 of dec and she was still a she. lol.. Good luck

My girlfriend got a clear CLEAR result at 17 weeks..Its a definite BOY. Im guessing if they say its a girl at 15weeks..it would be best for you to not look to far into it..because it could be an under developed boy at that early stage...I'm saying this based off of opinion..and 2 children down. 3 on the way. GOOD LUCK

18-22 weeks is the usual, but if things are obvious and clear the tech sometimes can tell as early as 14 weeks that I've heard. But it can be 50/50 then since sometimes the genitalia aren't fully formed yet and can look similar at the beginning. We were going to have our original scan at 18 weeks, but it was postponed to 21 weeks. It was very clear for us at 21 weeks.

They usually do not send for a gender U/S until at least 18weeks...since it is technically not a "gender" u/s...it is the full anatomy. Don't be disappointed if the tech is unable to tell the gender...but best of luck! :)
