Q: Postpartum Weightloss (have been cleared)

Hey ladies, hope everyone is doing well. Liam was born December 8, 5 weeks early. Hes doing absolutely fantastic. Hes been holding his head up on his own since four days old and the drs are astonished. Hes already trying to to scoot on his belly and pushing himself up. 6 weeks old on sunday. Any ways I was wondering about any good postpartum weightloss exercise and diets. went to my 6 week check and Was told I have severe back problems including minor scoliosis. Dr instructed me to start losing weight as soon as possible so I dont have to be put in a back brace. So I was wondering if anyone had some amazing tricks or thoughts. I do have a hard time losing weight, and have my whole life. Right now Im willing to try anything. Please help.

Try a postpartum abdominal compression girdle to help suck it all back in, i wore them after my first 2 and it helped tremendously. For the diet when I want to lose quickly I do a very clean eating diet of no sugars, white carbs or fired foods. Do egg whites and spinach for breakfast, quinoa and vegis with chicken breast for lunch and dinner. It really works. Also, PLANK PLANK PLANK, man I swear that is the wonder exercise.

Agree agree agree with all of the above!
I think not stressing about your weight loss needing to happen right away is a key as well... The recommended time to lose the baby weight is somewhere around 12 months. Obviously it takes some people longer and some people lose it incredibly fast.
Don't stress, get some exercise, eat balanced... everything will click into place. I always try to remind myself when I stress about my postpartum body that It's much more productive to put the thinking energy into playing with my daughter! They only grow up once!

My first I had gained over 70lbs and walked my but off. Fast pace like an hour a day. Then once I dropped close to my weight I joined a gym and did different classes. With my second I was doing Gilad from FitTV through pregnancy then afterwards bumped up to his more difficult workouts using weights and had a six pack after a few months. That and watching what I ate of course. Still working out to him so now that I'm older we'll see if I can get the weight off again afterwards. Good luck to you! Gilad is cheesy but hey it works!
He has lots of different types of workouts.

Drink lots and lots of water, especially if you're breastfeeding! Don't UNDER eat...your body will quickly go into starvation mode! I would avoid fad diets focus on lots of fruits, veggies and proteins!

For me breastfeeding and drinking lots (LOTS) of water worked very well. I also made sure I was eating 3 small meals (2 fists worth of food) and 3-5 snacks throughout the day. Making sure everything was pretty healthy (pronounceable ingredients). I also always took my babies for 2-3 15 minute walks outside a day, they loved riding in the stroller and my dog's didnt complain either :) I've had 2 kids and I was down to prepregnancy weight in 2 months with both pregnancies and I gained 10lbs with the first and 40lbs (holy crap) with the second likely since they were only 13 months apart. Hope this helps!
