Q: Is this normal?

I am 6 weeks pregnant. I have only had one blood test and that simply confirmed that I was pregnant. My doctor scheduled my first pre-natal appointment for 2/28 and my first OB/GYN appointment for 3/5. I will be 10 weeks at that point. Is it strange that my first appointment is that far away? Shouldn't I have more blood work to make sure everything is ok? I am just concerned about the timing. Thanks ladies!!

I went to the doctor at 5 weeks and he didn't even test me, he just said "i believe you"...lol !!!
I then didn't get to see the midwife until 8 weeks where i filled out details and had bloods.
Then had 12 week scan
Then had another midwife app at 15weeks (where i was told my blood results from week 8) and told everything was good.
I know don't have an app until my 20 week scan.

I have never been told my HCG levels, I have SEEN my babies heartbeat, but never been offered to hear it and i do not know the beats per minute??? I honestly think all establishments are different. Good Luck!

I guess it depends where you are. I had my first appt at 5 weeks and i had all my blood work done, but oddly she didnt make me pee into a cup to confirm my pregnancy. Anyways now I have my first ultrasound in 2 weeks and I will be 8 weeks along.

Im in australia so not sure if its different where u r but here If u r a public patient u dont get anything but a blood test untill usually 12 -14 weeks when u get a scan done unless u need a dating scan earlier. If u have private health care (which i do) I have already had a scan and bloods at 6 weeks and then seeing my ob at 8 weeks then getting a scna. I wouldnt have had a scan already expcept i had pains because i knew roughly what my dates were. Ide say if u dont have any problems inthe past its pretty standard to have only had a blood test
