Q: I am afraid to tell my boyfriend I'm pregnant.

I'm pregnant. Unplanned. 22 years old, my boyfriend is 23. I'm pretty early, I was on the pill when I got pregnant, I felt it right away. I just knew. It was a "sensation." When I was still just scared I tried to feel out how my boyfriend would feel. I know he wants kids one day, but financially he DOES NOT right now. I don't know how to tell him. I don't even know if I'm keeping it yet. I only found out for sure today, I wouldn't let myself decide this soon either way.

I would tell him sooner than later. If you hold off then it looksl ike you are purposely hiding something. Just tell him you are late. Go buy a pregnancy test and test with him. See the results. The pill alone is not 100% pregnancy proof. It's just a risk that was taken and while few get pregnant on the pill you guys did. He will likely be upset, possibly direct it at you for awhile...but in the end he needs to know.

You may be surprised at his response...it wouldn't be the first man that ended up happy when it wasn't planned. Even if he freaks out at first he may adjust to the idea should you keep the baby. Maybe avoid too much conversation when you first tell him...let it sink in.

Good luck!!
